Facilitating collaboration to achieve the intended goal is a common thread throughout Johan's career.

Johan Merlevede  has broad experience in management teams (at Xerox, Belgacom Mobile, Proximus, https://www.sanoma.com/en/news/2011/wp/johan-merlevede-appointed-chief-commercial-officer-at-sanoma-learning/), as CEO (Van In, Leuven MindGate) and as a board member at companies and non-profit organisations. He has always been fascinated by innovation on the one hand, personal growth on the other, and what it takes to make teams function even better.

Johan has a Master's degree in Classical Philology (KU Leuven) and a postgraduate degree in business economics and has completed several courses at London Business School and MIT Sloan. Johan is a "Certified Practitioner" MBTI Step I and MBTI Step II, is an Insights Discovery Licensed Practitioner and is well familiarised with the Big Five. He holds the "Associate Certified Coach" certificate with the International Coaching Federation and is trained in systemic coaching. In 2023, Johan also obtained a certificate as an organisational coach, delving into change management, sociocracy and deep democracy, among other subjects.

Three cities have stolen Johan's heart: Ostend (where he grew up), Leuven (where he lives) and Rome (where he can regularly be found in a wine bar or a museum). Together with his life partner Rita, he has three sons. Johan ran a few marathons and is passionate about everything Italy offers. Johan is currently training at Syntra Leuven to become a sommelier.
